Maps as additional field input or a view

For me it is a little bit too complicated, the way I can put in some information as a description. A good markdown interpreter should be enougth (and automatic analization of the input) but anyway …

As an additional fieldinput you can use a map, to manage the localization. This fieltype can be used everywhere, in Storys, Workspaces, Cards …

If you combine them with the OSM Project, you can mak an additional view, where this information can be displayed and it would be a feature, that not many use.

On the map you can choose, which information should be displayed (eg. Storys). The search can include (in PostGreS it is possible to make a search on near areas) the names, the position/places and the “near” (with a custom radius) projects, ToDos …

This is an idea and some more, makes the fieldinputtype more usefull and it takes this project into a much better position (because you can combine much more information together)

Thanks for the input.
The description field is not yet finalised, it is still not fully accessible so we still have a bit of work ahead of us! We chose Editor.js because it is opensource, the output is in an exploitable format and we made the bet that we can rely on it being there, active and maintained for a long while.

For your map field suggestion: could you tell me what use case would you have for such a thing?
I don’t think we will see something like that in our roadmap for a long while but I’m still interested in the need behind it

Happy new Year …:tada:

Case examples:
To plan different events, such as a hackatron, a seminar, a training course, or another event that is spread over different locations, you can define locations where they take place.

Other possible uses:
Tracking of objects where they are currently located. Coordination of appointments, where a laptop (several laptops) are currently located and where they need to go.

Other possible uses:
Route definition, which provides tasks at each station.

Other possible uses:
A package has to be picked up somewhere.

There are even more possibilities - but here is the last one:
There are different locations that produce, plan, offer something, Coordination could greatly simplify this.
