Timeline as an additional view

Just an idea, to have in mind:

Kanban is one of the base and maybe the most important view of visualization of a project. But one other view is the timeline. Some projects need hard timelimits, so this view on that is important too.

I’m in the process of installing Taiga in my organization, but not having a timeline view was a pretty big disappointment. I know you’re still in the early stages, but that’s definitely a view to consider.

One of the reasons : some things need to be done at specific points in time (like certificate renewals), and we have had issues with forgetting due dates because we didn’t have a clear view of team tasks with a specific date.

The Kanban view in Tenzu is excellent for visualizing tasks and organizing work across swimlanes and team members. However, it currently lacks the ability to assign and track deadlines for individual tasks. Implementing a due date feature — along with timeline adherence indicators (e.g., color codes or reminders for overdue tasks) — would greatly enhance accountability and planning efficiency. This addition would make Tenzu a more complete project management tool by allowing users to monitor not just task progress, but also timeliness and delivery discipline.

A story card has

  • Created by (10/8/25, 8:15 AM)
  • Status - New, ready etc.
  • Assigned to - ABC etc.

We could add a “DEADLINE DATE” as another field…. which will send email notifications to the owner/members of the project… as a reminder.

Thanks for all your feedbacks, tracking time on Tenzu is a subject we definitely need to get into.

Don’t hesitate if you have any other usecase/ideas about it in the meantime!

A quick Paint drawing of how I see it then :

The blue line being where we are in time. Colors are arbitrary here.

Tasks and/or user stories could have a due date.

The view would be per project.

Bonus feature : one timeline for all the projects the user has access to, in the home screen dashboard.
