First I’d like to thank you for making such a fast frontend It’s actually orders of magnitude faster than OG taiga and I’m absolutely loving it.
So I have a few questions about functionality:
Is issue tracking eventually planned? (Not a big deal / high priority as I can probably use some other solution for that but would be nice)
You’ve mentioned real-time collaboration in the latest update but I don’t think it works in the kanban I’ve tried to drag some cards around and the other window doesn’t receive any updates
The thing I’m missing the most from Taiga 6 right now is having subtasks. Are they planned or is there some fundamental problem with those in the new philosophy/code base?
Hello @wizzerinus and thank you very much for your kind words, that’s an awesome end of the year for us to hear that And a little spoiler: the next release will contains some more data loading performance gain, so stay tuned!
About your questions: Real-time not working:
You’re absolutely right! Seems to have been a silent issue infra-side, we have restarted our deployment and that has fixed it (you can now enjoy real-time updates), but we’ll keep a close watch on it to be able to detect and fix the root cause. Thank you for pointing it out!
Issue tracking and subtasks:
We are planning to do a deep exploratory work about everything that might be needed for tech teams: issues, task, subtask, epics, user stories, backlog, priority, spike, etc etc. We want our interface and the associated process to be as fluid as possible while still covering lots of use cases. So we don’t know yet the exact form any of this will take; that might take a bit of time but doing it prematurely would make us stuck with a data model that could hinder future development.
Having a Kanban is the most basic unit of work that we could provide to start with, but we will build on that to provide more complex tools in time.
We will be making prototypes mockups before anything else, and when that time comes we will be very glad for testers feedback
